The water level in the Dnieper River has been rising for the third day in a row after a slight decline. Over the past day, it rose by another 9 cm, reaching 9,309 cm above sea level as of 9:30 a.m. on Thursday.
This is stated in the Telegram channel of the Kyiv City Military Administration (KCMA).
"For the third day in a row, the water level has been rising. During this period, it has already risen by 26 cm in Kyiv. No emergency flooding has been recorded in the city. At the same time, the floodplain remains flooded with a water layer of about 40 cm," says Serhiy Popko, Head of the Kyiv City Military Administration.
He adds that floodplain areas in Kyiv remain flooded, including islands in Muromets Park, Hydropark, Trukhaniv Island, Halerna Bay, Korchuvate, and private plots in the Osokorky district.
"At the moment, the Dnieper River water level within Kyiv does not pose a threat to industrial facilities and residential areas of the city. However, the city authorities and all services are ready for potential emergencies," Popko points out.
