The incident occurred at 19:47 on the non-electrified single-track section between Snizhetskaya and Belye Berega, the Russian Railways press service said. Train traffic on the section has been suspended. Firefighters are working at the scene, and two recovery and one fire train have been sent there.

"An unidentified explosive device went off near the Snizhetskaya railway station. No one was injured. As a result of the incident, a locomotive and several freight cars derailed. All operational services are working at the scene," the governor of the region, Alexander Bogomaz, wrote in his telegram channel.
