At the end of April, a group of activists from the Ukraine Solidarity Project drew attention to the fact that although Pernod Ricard had stopped exporting Swedish vodka Absolut due to public outrage, it continued to sell, for example, Beefeater English gin and Jameson Irish whiskey there.

Now, Pernod Ricard's website has posted a statement that exports of its global brands to russia have been halted, and that work with local offices is in the process of being finalized.

Initially, when russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine began in February 2022, Pernod Ricard, along with numerous other international companies, left the russian market.

But in September, it returned and, according to activists of the Ukraine Solidarity Project, has since supplied tens of millions of dollars worth of alcohol to the russians.

In April of this year, Pernod Ricard agreed to stop exporting Absolut to russia when politicians and restaurants in Sweden called for a boycott of the brand. However, this did not apply to the company's other drinks, which caused dissatisfaction among activists.

Background. As a reminder, a protest against Pernod Ricard, which supplies alcohol to russia, was held in Britain. And the Ukrainian ambassador to Ireland called for refusal to buy Jameson whiskey.
