During the visit, Special Representative of the Chinese government Li Hui met with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, during the meeting with Li Hui, Minister Kuleba explained in detail to the Chinese special representative how Kyiv sees the prospects for restoring a sustainable and just peace based on respect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.
Kuleba emphasized that Ukraine is not ready to consider proposals that involve the loss of its territories or the freezing of the conflict.
The minister noted the importance of China's participation in the implementation of the President's Peace Formula, the Black Sea Grain Initiative, nuclear safety and other important international efforts.
The parties separately discussed the long-term prospects for the development of bilateral relations between Ukraine and China, the statement said.
In February, the Chinese Foreign Ministry published its proposals for "resolving the Ukrainian crisis," which included 12 points, the implementation of which, in China's opinion, would bring the end of the war closer. In particular, China spoke of the need to resume direct dialogue between moscow and Kyiv and proposed a ceasefire and a seat at the negotiating table.
He also called for "abandoning the Cold War mentality" and, in particular, stopping the expansion of military blocs.
Even then, Ukraine, as well as the European Union and the United States, emphasized that they viewed the Chinese document as a position statement, not as a real settlement plan or a proposal for negotiations between the parties.
