The Anti-Monopoly Committee has allowed mobile operator Vodafone Ukraine to acquire a share of more than 50% in the statutory capital of LLC Freenet (trade mark O3).
This is stated in a message from the Anti-Monopoly Committee.
"The declared concentration does not lead to monopolisation or significant restriction of competition in the commodity markets of Ukraine, so the Anti-Monopoly Committee has given the relevant permission," the message says.
The Committee noted that Vodafone's shares in the regional markets of fixed Internet access are insignificant. So, as a result of the concentration, the cumulative shares of participants (Vodafone+O3) within the relevant geographical boundaries will not exceed 15–21%.
The Freenet company provides high-speed Internet services, the provider's customer base counts over 160 thousand subscribers. In addition to the capital region, the company operates in Kyiv Oblast and nine other oblasts, including Dnipropetrovsk, Zhytomyr, Ivano-Frankivsk, and Lviv ones.
