The hydroelectric power stations on the Dnieper, located above the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Plant, are reducing their production power.
This is reported by the Headquarters for the Elimination of the Consequences of the Undermining of the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Station.
It is noted that this is expected to reduce the scale of flooding in Kherson Oblast. At the same time, the homes of approximately 20,000 residents in the region remain without power.
Background. Mind previously reported that the water level in the Kakhovka reservoir had dropped 3m due to the dam undermining. The hourly loss rates have slowed to 5–7 cm/hour.
