In particular, financial assistance of UAH 22.5 million will be provided to more than 1,000 households affected by the flood. Each household will receive 2,200 hryvnias ($60) per person for three months, up to a total of five people per household in the affected areas.

USAID also reported that it has provided drinking water to more than 14,000 people, distributed hot meals to 7,000 people in Kherson and Mykolaiv, and provided more than 10,000 liters of fuel to support water rescue operations and emergency aid distribution.

The US Agency is providing evacuation buses under the leadership of the Ukrainian government and boats to support rescue efforts.

Work is also underway on a plan to deliver pumps for Kherson's critical infrastructure.

It is noted that through direct budgetary support from the Cabinet of Ministers in the amount of $22.9 billion, USAID is helping the government of Ukraine pay the salaries of more than 57,000 SES employees, including rescuers working in the Kherson region.

Earlier it was reported that USAID, together with its partners, deployed aid to the affected Ukrainians within the first hours after the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant explosion.

This was reported on Twitter by USAID Administrator Samantha Power.

"USAID and partners were prepared to respond to the forced displacement of people and quickly mobilized supplies prepositioned at evacuation sites, including hygiene kits, food, safe drinking water, and cash assistance. Teams on the ground are already assessing needs and preparing additional responses," Power said.
