From January to May 2023, 4,991 customs rule violations were detected, with the cost of the infringed items exceeding UAH 4.3 billion.

"Administrative penalties in the form of fines amounting to UAH 53 million were applied, of which UAH 26 million was collected for the state budget," the customs service reported.
According to the State Customs Service, 2,628 cases of customs rule violations, amounting to UAH 1.1 billion, were submitted to the court for consideration.
In addition, it is noted that as a result of the cases reviewed by the courts, penalties totalling over UAH 1.1 billion were imposed, which is 73% more than over the same period in 2022.
