Only 40% of Ukraine's fuel market operates legally – Yaroslav Zhelezniak

It is noted that up to 30% are entirely illegal mini petrol stations and another 30% are medium and large petrol stations evading taxes

Losses to the budget from Ukraine's illegal fuel market reach up to 10 billion UAH.

This was reported by Ukrainian MP Yaroslav Zhelezniak.

According to him, retail sales are distributed as follows:

"Currently, there is almost no smuggling of fuel, so all the low-quality fuel that is sold is made in Ukraine. On illegal mini refineries or refineries that produce such products," Zhelezniak noted.

In addition, the MP reported that today at a committee meeting, a number of issues related to the fuel market would be discussed. In particular, issues relating to illegal retail sales and production, as well as tax evasion.

Background. Earlier, Mind reported that police had exposed an underground fuel production in Kyiv Oblast.
