As of 31 May 2023, the public and publicly guaranteed debt of Ukraine reached 4,593.47 billion UAH or $125.61 billion in May, according to the Ukrainian Ministry of Finance.
The external debt amounted to 3,071.08 billion UAH, or $83.98 billion, which is 66.86% of the total amount. The domestic debt was 1,522.39 billion UAH, or $41.63 billion, accounting for 33.14%.
It is noted that the amount of the total public debt reached 4,257.08 billion UAH, or $116.41 billion. Of these, the external debt is 2,804.33 billion UAH, or $76.69 billion, which is 61.05% of the total amount. The domestic debt is 1,452.75 billion UAH, or $39.73 billion, accounting for 31.63%.
As of the end of April, the publicly guaranteed debt of Ukraine was 336.4 billion UAH, or $9.2 billion. The external guaranteed debt was 266.75 billion UAH, or $7.29 billion (5.81%), the internal guaranteed debt was 69.65 billion UAH, or $1.9 billion (1.52%).
The Ministry of Finance reports that during May 2023, the total amount of public and publicly guaranteed debt of Ukraine increased in hryvnia equivalent by 46.68 billion UAH, and in dollar terms – by $1.27 billion.
