US House of Representatives rejects amendments to the law that would have 'cut' aid to Ukraine

The US House of Representatives has finished considering amendments to the National Defence Authorisation Act for Fiscal Year 2024 (NDAA). All proposals related to the cancellation of aid to Ukraine for the next year were rejected.

This was reported by Ukraine's Ambassador to the USA, Oksana Markarova.

The diplomat explained that a series of amendments, which proposed to cancel:

• the allocation of $300 million in aid to Ukraine;
• the creation of a centre for advanced experience in Ukraine;
• the sale or transfer of cluster munitions to Ukraine had been all rejected.

Markarova added that officials had preserved aid to Ukraine in that way, but there were still votes in general, Senate NDAA voting, House conference, and re-voting ahead.

Background. Earlier, Mind reported that Ukraine had received cluster munitions from the US. The Armed Forces have not yet used them, but it is expected that these munitions will change the situation on the frontlines.
