An MP from the banned party Opposition Platform – For Life is suspected of treason.
This was reported by the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU).
The investigation determined that during the large-scale invasion by the russian federation, the MP voluntarily collaborated with the aggressor when he was on the temporarily occupied territory of the Zaporizhzhia Oblast.
Law enforcement agencies do not disclose the name of the suspect, however, according to Hromadske sources, the suspect is IX convocation MP Oleksandr Ponomariov.
In particular, the collaborator re-registered the enterprises under his control under russian law, opened accounts in the local "branches" of russian banking institutions, and organised the production of material values and their transfer to the russian occupation forces.
The suspect's factories supplied fuel and lubricants for the rf's military equipment and provided equipment for the construction of enemy fortifications. Moreover, upon the MP's return to Kyiv, he continued to coordinate the enterprises assisting the occupiers.
Law enforcement officers seized electronic carriers with evidence of the MP's activities benefiting the russian federation. A pre-trial investigation is currently underway to determine all the circumstances of the crime, and the issue of choosing a preventive measure for the suspect is being resolved.
Background. Mind previously reported that the State Bureau of Investigations had completed the investigation into 31 traitors from the temporarily occupied territories. As a result, ten more collaborators were notified of suspicion.
