The Ukrainian unmanned aerial complex, Sirko, has been launched into mass production.
The Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Skyassist Scientific and Production Company, Ihor Krynychko, announced this at the presentation of the UAV, Fierce Birds Demo Day, Ukrinform reports.
The developer company will soon present the second version of the drone.
Developers have managed to establish links with manufacturers of the necessary components – not only with Chinese ones, but also with Israeli, Canadian, Taiwanese, and others.
Krynychko noted that there was no state procurement of drones; they were purchased for military use with volunteer funds. During June, almost a hundred complexes were received by the Armed Forces of Ukraine. At the same time, the manufacturer's capabilities allow for production of 800-1,000 units per month.
According to him, feedback from Ukrainian defenders from the Kupyansk direction, Kherson and Mykolaiv oblasts has been received.
"When they say 'everything is great, all is well', and there are such reviews – this is not for engineers, not for designers. But when they call me and say, 'it would be better like this, can you add this?' This is necessary, this is motivation for us. We work, we improve. In a few weeks, we will present Sirko 2," Krynychko said.
Background. In 2023, the Ministry of Defence will allocate about 20 billion UAH for the purchase of drones for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In particular, 16 state contracts were concluded with domestic manufacturers of unmanned aerial vehicles.
