The Verkhovna Rada has approved the reform of antitrust legislation

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has adopted a law to strengthen the role of the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine (AMCY). 258 MPs voted in favour.

Specifically, the law provides for increasing institutional independence, improving tools, regulating the procedure for AMCU inspections, granting the right to obtain information from registers, and also detailing the conditions for obtaining concentration permits in accordance with EU standards.

In addition, subsidiary liability is established, giving committee decisions the status of an executive order, and also raising the salary level of employees of the antimonopoly agency.
