Foreign Ministers of Ukraine and Germany fail to agree on supply of long-range Taurus missiles

Burbock emphasizes the importance of strengthening the fight against corruption in Ukraine

German Foreign Minister Annalena Burbock paid a working visit to Kyiv today. This is her fourth visit since the beginning of the war, RBC-Ukraine reports.

At a joint press conference with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba in Kyiv on September 11, Burbock said that Germany would allocate another 20 million euros to Kyiv, in addition to the 380 million previously allocated.

At the meeting with her Ukrainian counterpart, Dmytro Kuleba, they discussed the supply of additional weapons, grain exports, and bilateral relations between the two countries.

It is noted that the parties did not agree to supply Ukraine with Taurus long-range missiles.

Burbock said that this requires "clarifying all the issues."

Dmytro Kuleba, in turn, assured that Ukraine is ready to do this.

"Today we better understand the peculiarities of the process of making the final decision by the German government. For its part, Ukraine is ready to do everything necessary to speed it up," the Ukrainian Foreign Minister said.

In addition, Annalena Burbock emphasized the importance of strengthening the fight against corruption in Ukraine on its way to EU membership.

"We are now talking about starting negotiations on Ukraine's accession to the EU. This is very important. Ukraine has already come a long way on its way to accession, particularly in terms of legislation. But it is very important to strengthen the fight against corruption. But there are already successes here. The High Anti-Corruption Court has been launched and 100 people have already been brought before it," she said.

Burbock also assured of Germany's support for Ukraine on its path to the European Union.

Background. As it has become known, the United States will soon include long-range ATACMS missiles in the military aid package for Ukraine.
