Zelensky cancels visit to Israel due to media leak

Zelensky wanted the news of his visit to appear only when he had already arrived in Israel, not before

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has postponed his visit to Israel, which, according to some reports, was scheduled for November 7. The reason is reportedly that the information about the visit was disclosed earlier in the media.

Source. This was reported by the Times of Israel, citing its sources in Israeli diplomatic circles.

These sources confirmed to the newspaper that Zelenskyy still plans to visit Israel, but the time of the visit has not yet been determined.

The plans of the President of Ukraine to visit Israel, which is in the midst of active hostilities with the Hamas group, became known on November 4, but according to the Times of Israel, these plans had to be changed due to a leak, as Zelensky wanted the news of his visit to appear only when he had already arrived in Israel.

All things considered, this is not the first time that Zelenskyy's visit to Israel has been postponed. More than two weeks ago, he himself offered to come there, but because of the recently erupted war with Hamas, Tel Aviv considered such a visit untimely.

However, now, as the same representative of Israeli diplomatic circles told the newspaper, "if President Zelenskyy comes, he will be welcomed with open arms."

Background. As a reminder, today, November 7, the first group of Ukrainians is being evacuated from the Gaza Strip. The evacuation permit was issued to 101 Ukrainian citizens.
