The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) has taken note of the government's draft law No. 10378 on mobilization and is ready to take part in the discussion on the application of financial restrictions for mobilization evaders contained in it.
Source. This was announced by the head of the National Bank Andriy Pyshnyi.
"I think that in the process of its elaboration in the parliament we should have discussions and exchange of views. If there is a need, and it is likely to arise because the draft law does contain some points, we will take part in the discussion. And this discussion will be, as always, well-reasoned, quite deep, and, I am convinced, will lead us to the best solution and wording of the draft law," he said in an interview with the We Are Ukraine TV channel, Interfax-Ukraine reports.
The head of the National Bank stressed that the issue of mobilization is not within the regulator's competence, as it is the responsibility of the Ministry of Defense, the government, and the General Staff.
As reported, on December 25, the Cabinet of Ministers submitted to the Verkhovna Rada draft law No. 10378, which regulates mobilization, recruitment and military service. In particular, it provides for a number of restrictions and sanctions against Ukrainian citizens liable for military service who evade mobilization.
Thus, according to information from the heads of the military commissariats, those who evade will be entered into a specially created open Unified Register of Debtors. This will result in restrictions on the right to use their own transport, obtain a driver's license, travel abroad, conduct transactions with movable and immovable property, as well as use money and other valuables, obtain a loan and enjoy benefits.
Background. As reported, the European Business Association called for revision of the draft law on mobilization, noting that a number of provisions in the current version actually deprive citizens of their basic rights.
