On January 11, the Ministry of National Defense of Latvia hosted the first meeting of partners from the coalition created to address the task of demining Ukrainian territories.

"This is the first working meeting during which we sought to clarify Ukraine's demining needs and the specific contribution of each coalition partner state. It is good that the meeting was attended by representatives of 19 countries in addition to Lithuania and Ukraine, and representatives of 6 other countries joined remotely," the Defense Ministry website quoted Vaidotas Urbelis, director of the ministry's defense policy department, as saying.
The purpose of the Coalition for Demining Ukraine is to unite and coordinate existing and future support for mine clearance of Ukrainian territories, both in wartime and post-war.
A fund is reportedly being created to purchase the necessary equipment.
