Zelenskyy in an interview with Fox News: "If the US stops helping Ukraine, the world will see a tragedy"

He said he did not intend to create a frozen conflict and conclude new "Minsk" agreements with Russia

Ukraine has no intention of freezing hostilities and concluding new agreements with Russia that will be similar to the Minsk agreements, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said in an interview with Fox News.

"First of all, no one has ever made us any such proposals, nothing official. Secondly, we already had a frozen conflict. We had this document, the Minsk agreements in the Normandy format – Ukraine, Germany, France, Russia. A document on the exchange of prisoners and a ceasefire," Zelenskyy said.

According to him, after that, Kyiv no longer believes in frozen conflicts, as the issue is "not only about the territory, but also about the security" of Ukraine.

He also refused to call talks "with tanks, with the destruction of our people" negotiations. "Macron and Scholz spoke to Putin before the war started. And Putin claimed that there would be no invasion. So whatever he says, it cannot be believed," Zelenskyy said.

He also noted that there cannot be two points of view on the war in Ukraine. "There is only one enemy, and that is Putin," the Ukrainian leader stressed.

At the same time, the President of Ukraine acknowledged that if the United States stops helping Kyiv, the country will have to survive.

"Will we survive? Of course we will. But not all of us. If the world is ready for this, you will see it. But this is a tragedy. It will be a tragedy for all of us, not only for Ukraine, not only for Ukrainians, but for the whole of Europe," the Ukrainian president said.

As reported, Putin wants to freeze the military conflict in Ukraine and in 2023 publicly and privately transmitted signals to the United States through intermediaries, Reuters wrote, citing informed sources. However, according to the sources, the US refused to discuss the Russian president's proposals, as he was going to leave the occupied territories of Ukraine behind.

Background. As a reminder, Zelenskyy gave an interview to Fox News 2 km from the frontline. The core of Fox News' audience is made up of supporters of the Republican Party, which is blocking aid to Ukraine.
