Meta assured that they are already fixing the problems associated with a large-scale outage on Facebook and Instagram. Facebook was the first to update, followed by Instagram a little later.
Meta spokesperson Andy Stone said within an hour of the Facebook and Instagram outage that they were aware of the problems. Specialists are already working on them, he assured.
Around 7 p.m., users began to report that Facebook was back up and running, with the feed starting to load and update again. Messenger is also available again. Later, Instagram started working partially, but not for everyone.
Meta said it was working on the causes of the large-scale failure of its Facebook and Instagram platforms.
As a reminder, a massive outage of Facebook, Instagram, Messenger, and partially YouTube occurred on the evening of Tuesday, 5 March.
Users around the world, including in Ukraine, began to complain about the platforms and apps. Some users were kicked out of their accounts and could not return to their pages, as the system did not accept their credentials and passwords.
Earlier in the day, it was reported that global internet cables were damaged in the Red Sea. The route is considered to be one of the most important for data transmission between Asia and Europe.
