The Czech industrial and technological holding Czechoslovak Group is in talks with Ukrainian state-owned companies and organisations about the possibility of transferring part of its production to Ukraine in the form of joint ventures. The relevant information was provided to the media by Czechoslovak Group spokesman Andrej Cyrtek, Czech Radio reports.
It is noted that it is planned to produce ammunition and heavy ground equipment in Ukraine. The project can be implemented within three years.
"Ukraine is striving to strengthen its defence industry. Czechoslovak Group is ready to become a serious partner in this endeavour. The basis for the development of cooperation is the ongoing supply of significant volumes of artillery ammunition and heavy equipment to Ukraine," the company's spokesman said.
According to him, Ukraine needs to replenish its stocks of artillery ammunition, including the acquisition of facilities to produce NATO standard calibre shells.
In addition, the company's owner Michal Strnad stressed that the main focus will be on the production of artillery ammunition.
He added that CSG is in talks with the state-owned Ukroboronprom about a potential joint venture and is looking for suitable sites for the production of artillery and tank shells, as well as heavy equipment.
Since the start of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine by Russian troops in February 2022, Czechoslovak Group has already sent 150-160 armoured vehicles to Ukraine.
"Now there will be more, because we have managed to find additional sources, and we are now purchasing more vehicles to repair them for Ukraine," said Michal Strnad.
Background. Meanwhile, it was reported that Ukraine's allies have already raised funds to purchase 800,000 shells. In March-April, the ammunition may be delivered to the frontline.
