Polish farmers plan to temporarily unblock Krakovets checkpoint - State Border Guard Service

As of 9 March, 2300 trucks are queuing at the border in all directions

Polish border guards have informed the Ukrainian side that Polish farmers plan to temporarily stop blocking traffic at the Krakovets checkpoint until 13 March.

Source. This was reported by the spokesman for the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, Andriy Demchenko.

"But we will see whether this will be observed, whether the direction of the Krakovets checkpoint will actually be unblocked by the 13th," Demchenko said during a telethon, Interfax-Ukraine reports.

He noted that as of the morning of 9 March, 2,300 trucks were queuing at the border in all directions. According to Demchenko, the most difficult situation is opposite the Yahodyn and Shehyni checkpoints.

"In fact, farmers there do not let trucks heading towards Poland through at all," Demchenko said.

Background. Earlier, it was reported that Warsaw would declare the checkpoints on the border with Ukraine as critical infrastructure. This status will lead to "a different type of organisational regime", the Polish government said.
