The ISIS terrorist group is shocked that they have to prove the organisation of the terrorist attack in Moscow's Crocus.
Media outlets close to the Islamic State say that Russia does not recognise its failure and blames the West.
In particular, the new issue of the newspaper "An-Naba" contains an article stating that Russia does not recognise "failure in the face of the mujahideen", preferring to blame its opponents in the "Western camp".
The newspaper is published on behalf of the Islamic State and is distributed as a PDF file. This issue was posted in a chat room where messages from ISIS resources such as Amaq and Nashr are published, The Insider reports.
"After a resounding defeat, Russia had no choice but to direct 'conspiracy accusations' against its opponents in the 'Western camp' to avoid admitting its great failure to the mujahedeen," said Ruslan Suleymanov, an orientalist, commenting on the material.
The terrorists' publication, describing the details of the attack, indicates that three militants were supposed to shoot all those present in the Crocus City Hall, and the fourth was to set the building on fire.
It also says that the malfunctioning of some weapons forced the militants to leave the Crocus in a hurry: the attackers had prepared enough weapons to commit even more murders and a subsequent shootout with security forces.
"Russia is very interested in interrogating prisoners in such a way that it serves political conflicts with its opponents and covers up the losses inflicted on it by the mujahedeen," Suleymanov quoted the article as saying.
At the same time, the article says that the attack was carried out by a new "caliphate group" inside Russia.
"According to ISIS, it was not Wilayat Khorasan after all, but some new structure inside Russia. They explicitly mention Russia as a separate entity in their material. That is, some organised group was able to appear inside the country and commit such a horrific terrorist attack."
At the same time, the Russian authorities continue to accuse Ukraine and Western countries of organising the attack. For example, Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev said that Ukraine was involved in the attack on the Crocus.
Putin called the attack in Crocus an "act of intimidation". In his opinion, the attack could be "a link in a series of attempts by those who have been at war with Russia since 2014 at the hands of the Kyiv regime".
Background. Meanwhile, Putin's entourage does not believe in Ukraine's involvement in the Crocus attack, Bloomberg wrote.
