The United Kingdom will provide Ukraine with Paveway IV precision guided bombs as part of the largest military aid package approved the day before.

Paveway IV is the latest modification of the Paveway family of bombs. It is based on a modified Mk 82 bomb with increased penetration. The projectile has a dual-mode navigation system: satellite GPS or inertial INS. The Paveway IV entered service with the British Armed Forces in 2008. The bomb weighs 230 kg. It was developed by Raytheon UK.
This precision-guided bomb is guided by a laser in any navigation mode, and after being dropped, it makes a planned descent.
Currently, Paveway IV is carried by Eurofighter Typhoon, F-35, Panavia Tornado, and Harrier II fighters. The bomb can also be launched from F-16s or from "Soviet-made aircraft" in the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
On 23 April, British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak announced that the UK would provide Ukraine with £500 million (about $620 million) in aid, the largest military tranche in the country's history.
As part of the new package, Kyiv will receive 400 vehicles, including Husky armoured vehicles, 1,600 strike and air defence missiles, including Storm Shadow, 60 boats and 4 million rounds of ammunition.
