As reported, on 6 February, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed a decree ‘On building up the capabilities of the defence forces’. According to the presidential decree, it is proposed to create a separate branch of the military in Ukraine called the Unmanned Systems Forces to control unmanned aerial vehicles.

The decree states that the document was issued to increase the capabilities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to use unmanned and robotic air, sea and ground systems, as well as to ensure readiness to use such systems for their intended purpose.
