SBU drones attacked oil depot in Rostov region - security source

"SBU drones continue to impose targeted economic sanctions against Russia's energy sector," the report says

Last night, a massive fire broke out at an oil depot in the Tsimlyansky district of Rostov region after a drone attack, which could not be extinguished for more than six hours.

Local publics wrote that a fuel tank caught fire after the drone strike, and photos and videos of the burning oil depot were posted on telegram channels.

A fire train was used to extinguish the fire.

By 10am local time, the fire was extinguished, and Rostov Region Governor Vasily Golubev said there were no fatalities or injuries.

The Ukrainian service of the BBC reports, citing a security source, that the oil depot was attacked by SBU drones.

"SBU drones continue to impose targeted economic sanctions against Russia's energy complex, which is working for the war in Ukraine. More than three dozen successful strikes on Russian oil depots and refineries have already significantly reduced Russia's oil refining and revenues. And these sanctions will only increase," the source said.

Background. As a reminder, on 9 July, the SBU and the Main Intelligence Directorate attacked the Akhtubinsk military airfield in Astrakhan region, an electricity substation in Rostov region and an oil depot in Kalach-on-Don in Volgograd region.
