In particular, according to the Pentagon, the package includes:

In addition, the package includes small arms, explosives, secure communications systems, satellite imagery services, and spare parts for maintenance of auxiliary equipment.

It is noted that the new package provides for the transfer of weapons directly from the US Armed Forces under the authority of the US President.

However, the Pentagon also intends to use the mechanism of the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative (USAI), which involves ordering weapons from American manufacturers for further production.

Under this initiative, Kyiv will receive air defence, long-range and anti-tank weapons. According to some reports that need to be confirmed, the total amount of the USAI package will be $1.5 billion.

In a statement, the Pentagon said that the United States will continue to work with partners (about 50 countries) to provide Ukraine with critical equipment needed to combat Russian aggression.

Background. Meanwhile, it has been reported that the Pentagon has found ‘accounting errors’ worth $2 billion in funds allocated to help Ukraine. Due to these errors, the US Department of Defence may send Ukraine another $2 billion worth of weapons, which will exceed the amount already approved by President Biden.
