A 17-year-old man has been charged in the UK with the 29 July attack on a children's dance studio in Southport, northern England.
He is accused of three murders and attempted murder in ten cases, the Crown Prosecution Service said on Wednesday, 31 July.
On Thursday, the accused, who is in pre-trial detention, will appear in court in Liverpool.
On Wednesday, more than 100 people were detained in central London during a protest by British ultranationalists, tamed by the events in Southport.
Its participants demanded to stop illegal migrants from entering the country.
The action escalated into clashes with the police, and several police officers and a medical worker were slightly injured.
According to the British media, protesters threw bottles and fireworks over the fence near the prime minister's residence on Downing Street.
The day before, right-wing extremist protests that escalated into riots took place in Southport. Then 39 police officers were injured.
The protesters accused the authorities of allegedly concealing the true origin of the perpetrator.
In this regard, the police stressed that the accused was born in the UK and lived in the neighbouring town of Banks, which is close to Southport.
The British community deeply condemned the aggression of the far right during the protests. In particular, videos were posted on social media showing Southport residents helping to rebuild the wall of a local mosque that had been destroyed during the protests.
As reported, on 29 July, a 17-year-old man in the resort town of Southport attacked the Hart Space Studio, a dance studio for children aged 6 to 11, with a knife. Three girls were killed in the attack. Eight other children were stabbed, five of them in serious condition.
Two adults who rushed to help the children are also in hospital with serious injuries.
The police are not yet classifying the attack as a terrorist act. Nothing is known about the attacker's motives.
The attack took place in the Hart Space Studio when a yoga and dance workshop for children aged 6 to 11 years old was taking place there, themed around the singer Taylor Swift.
British Prime Minister Keir Starmer wrote on social media that he was deeply shocked by the attack.
Taylor Swift said on her Instagram that the attack left her "completely shocked". "They were just little kids at a dance class. I am at a loss for how to convey my condolences to these families," the American singer wrote.
