The Kyiv authorities did not support the petition calling for the cancellation of public transport suspensions during air alert in the capital.
This is stated in Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko's response to the petition.
"The decision of the Kyiv Defence Council was made taking into account the assessment of the current and projected security situation in the capital and will be reviewed only if it is significantly stabilised and the relevant recommendations are received from the State Emergency Service of Ukraine. The relevant analysis and assessment are carried out on an ongoing basis," Mr. Klitschko explained.
According to him, the suspension of public transport during the air alert does not incur any additional costs for passengers, as they can use pre-paid travel documents after the alert is over.
