The President instructed the Prime Minister to consider the feasibility of renaming

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has reviewed an electronic petition to rename Russia to Muscovy and instructed Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal to "work out" the issue.
Source. This is stated on the official website of the President of Ukraine.
The petition was published on November 23, 2022. It has already gained 25 thousand signatures. Its author believes that Muscovy is the historical name of Russia, which was found on "many historical maps" in the 16th and 19th centuries, after Peter proclaimed the state the Russian Empire.
Zelensky published a response to the petition, in which he wrote, in particular, that "the issue raised in the petition requires careful consideration both in terms of the historical and cultural context and in view of possible international legal consequences."
He instructed Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal to "comprehensively study" the issue of the expediency of renaming Russia "in particular with the involvement of scientific institutions."
