Lawyers of the ruling Justice and Development Party of Turkey have filed a lawsuit with the International Criminal Court in The Hague, accusing Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of genocide against the population of the Gaza Strip.

The statement says that the lawyers represent "the conscience of the citizens of the Republic of Turkey". According to Külünc, the lawsuit, which consists of 26 pages, was filed through the Turkish Ministry of Justice, which will deliver the document to The Hague.
Earlier, Devlet Bahceli, chairman of the National Movement Party, a member of the ruling coalition, called for Netanyahu, whose "conscience and hands are bloody," to be tried in the Hague for "war crimes."
At a rally in support of Palestine on October 28, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan called Israel an "occupier" and the West an "accomplice to its crimes."
After that, the Israeli Foreign Ministry recalled its diplomats from the country to "reassess" Turkish-Israeli relations. In turn, Turkey recalled its ambassador from Israel "for consultations."
