Oshchadbank is a Ukrainian commercial state-owned bank that has the largest number of branches in Ukraine (1,845 offices) and serves more than 7 million customers. It is on the list of systematically important banks. In 2016, it joined the BankID system.
Oshchadbank ranks #2 among Ukrainian banks in terms of assets. As of January 1, 2021, the bank's assets amounted to 235.7 billion UAH, which was 6% less than the previous year.
Last year, the bank made a 2.8 billion UAH profit – 11 times more than in 2019. According to the results of 2020, the bank will transfer 30% of its 832.8 million UAH of net profit for paying dividends to the state budget.
In April 2021, the Antimonopoly Committee (AMCU) filed a suit against Oschadbank for abusing its monopoly position in the acquiring services market. According to the AMCU, the bank set inflated commissions for transactions, regardless of interchange costs.
