The 3rd Army Corps Launches a Humanitarian Initiative to Evacuate Civilians from Combat Zones
By creating AB3.HUMANITARIAN, the Corps can treat civilian evacuation as its own separate cause and raise dedicated funding for it
The 3rd Army Corps is setting up AB3.HUMANITARIAN, a dedicated humanitarian fund to help evacuate civilians from areas where fighting is ongoing. The fund's goal is to provide the Corps' units with vehicles and resources to carry out organized evacuations from towns and villages that government services and volunteers can no longer reach because it's too dangerous.
More than 10,000 civilians are still living in the area where the 3rd Army Corps operates. In some places, the constant danger of drone strikes and shelling makes it impossible for civilian evacuation teams to work – so soldiers evacuate people instead. To do this, they use remote-controlled ground vehicles, armored cars, motorboats, and other special equipment.
During one such operation, soldiers from the Corps' 60th Brigade evacuated a 77-year-old woman from a frontline area. It was too dangerous to send a crew to reach her in person, so they sent a remote-controlled vehicle instead, with a note attached that read: "Grandma, get in!" The woman was evacuated safely, without putting anyone at risk.
The 3rd Army Corps is a unit of Ukraine's Ground Forces, part of the "East" Operational Command. It was formed in 2025, built on the basis of the 3rd Assault Brigade.

"More than 10,000 civilians are still living in the area where the 3rd Army Corps operates. Most of them are under constant shelling, surrounded by destroyed infrastructure. Any delay in evacuating them could be fatal. Our goal is to have enough resources to get people out as quickly as possible," said Oksana Drahan, head of the AB3.HUMANITARIAN fund.
All money raised will go strictly toward humanitarian purposes: evacuating civilians, delivering humanitarian aid, and supporting the work of evacuation teams. None of it will be used for combat operations.
