The Kremlin is going to send in Syrian mercenaries to the war in Ukraine to substitute for Russian conscripts

The Kremlin has decided to send in the mercs to take over Russian conscripts who lack battle experience – reports “We can explain”, a telegram channel, referring to sources in the Ministry of Defense of Russia, which Meduza refers to as well.

On the 11th of March, during a Russian Federation Security Council session, the minister of defense, Serhii Shoigu stated that more than 16000 volunteers from the Middle East have sent in their applications to be sent to DPR/LPR to join the “Liberation effort”. Even more, Putin has offered them help to get to the combat zone.

According to a member of the Ministry of Defense, the russian authorities want to soothe the civil unrest which resulted from unprepared russian conscripts being forced into the war.
The fighting capacity of the Syrian soldiers is poor, but this will be compensated for by their numbers – states another source in the Defense Ministry.

Arrangements to send Syrian troops were reached with Bashar Asad. In the light of a tough situation which Bashar Asad has found himself in for many years, having no other support other than support from Moscow, he could not refuse.
It should be reminded that the Pentagon said previously, Putin has been recruiting Syrian mercenaries trained for combat in urban environments.
