Kuleba: Battle for Donbas will be like WWII
Russia has one plan, Ukraine has another, and the result will be defined on the battlefield, the minister says

What happened. “The battle for Donbas between Ukraine and Russia will resemble Second World War,” says the Minister of Foreign Affairs Dmytro Kuleba.
Source. Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba told at a press conference after participating in the NATO Ministers of Foreign Affairs meeting in Brussels.
Details. “I regret to say it, but it is true. The battle for Donbas will remind you the WWII with large operations, maneuvers, involvement of thousands of tanks, armored vehicles, planes, and artillery. It will not be a local operation based on what we see in Russia’s preparations for it. Russia has its plan, we have ours, and the outcome of this battle will be decided on the battlefield,” stated Kuleba.
He emphasized that our allies must support Ukraine without considering the issues too long, saying that they have to follow all the procedures and some matters have to be sorted out before they decide.
“Either you help us now, and I am speaking about days, not weeks, or your help will come too late. Many people will die, many civilians will lose their homes, and many villages will be destroyed exactly because this help came too late,” summarized Kuleba.
Background. Deputy Chief of Staff of the Command Headquarters of the Ukrainian Land Forces of AFU Brigadier General Oleksandr Hruzevych reported that we should not rule out the possibility of a new attempt of the Russian army to take Kyiv.
