In their statement on Wednesday, the russians threatened to strike at Ukrainian “decision-making centers”, including those in the Ukrainian capital, in response to what russia called “attempts of sabotage and strikes” on the russian territory. This was reported by CNN.
“We are observing attempts of sabotage and strikes by Ukrainian troops on objects on the territory of the russian federation,” asserted the russian Ministry of Defense spokesperson Major General Igor Konashenkov.
“If such cases continue, the Armed Forces of the russian federation will strike at decision-making centers, including those in Kyiv, from which the russian army has thus far refrained.”
The Head of the Presidential Administration Andriy Yermak, commented on the kremlin's threats.
“russia is preparing an excuse for the subsequent threats by its own provocations. It has already talked about possible missile strikes on Kyiv. We are ready for any scenario and no russian scenario will work. The kremlin has already proved that it can only fight with civilians who are unable to respond to them. russia will be held accountable for all its crimes by the International Criminal Court in future,” Ermak said.
Earlier this month, russia accused Ukraine of organizing a helicopter attack on a fuel depot on the territory of russia. The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine didn't confirm or deny the attack.
