The EU agrees on a sith package of sanctions against russia
It provides a partial embargo on oil and disconnection of Sberbank from SWIFT

What happened? Late in the evening on Monday, May 30, EU leaders agreed on the sixth package of sanctions against russia, which provides a partial embargo on russian oil imports and disconnection of Sberbank from the SWIFT system.
Source. This was reported by the russian service of the BBC.
Details. “Agreement to ban export of russian oil to the EU immediately covers more than 2/3 of oil imports from russia, cutting a huge source of financing for its war machine. Maximum pressure on russia to end the war,” European Council President Charles Michel wrote on his Twitter page.
Sea-supplied oil became a subject of sanctions. The EU has so far decided to keep imports on the Druzhba pipeline, on which Hungary depends. It was against the introduction of a full embargo on russian production.
Charles Michel said at the final press conference that the decision to stop the import of russian oil through pipelines is temporary.
EU leaders also agreed to disconnect russia's largest bank, Sberbank, from the SWIFT interbank payment system and ban three other russian state-run media outlets.
“This sanctions package includes other hard-hitting measures: de-Swifting the largest russian bank Sberbank, banning 3 more russian state-owned broadcasters, and sanctioning individuals responsible for war crimes in Ukraine,” Charles Michel stated.
European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, who initiated the sixth package of sanctions, said on the evening of May 30 that the European Union hopes to give up 90% of russia's oil imports by the end of the year.
She also said that the EU was working to provide 9 billion euros of assistance to Ukraine to meet its current liquidity needs.
