Reznikov: “HIMARS have arrived in Ukraine, Summer will be hot for russian occupiers”
He calls American weapons “powerful” ones
High-mobility artillery rocket systems (HIMARS) from the United States have arrived in Ukraine from the United States, Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksii Reznikov announced this on Thursday.
“Thank you to my colleague and friend Lloyd J. Austin Ill for these powerful tools! Summer will be hot for russian occupiers. And the last one for some of them,” he wrote on Twitter.
Meanwhile, russian troops are trying to surround Ukrainian forces defending Lysychansk city, Deputy Chief of the Main Operations Department of the General Staff Olexii Gromov said at an online briefing on Thursday.
According to him, “the enemy does not stop, trying to create conditions for the encirclement of parts of our troops in the area of Lysychansk.”
On Thursday three russian cruise missiles were launched at Mykolaiv. As a result of the blows one civilian was wounded.
Two more missiles were shot down by Ukrainian air defenses near Odesa, the statement of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reads.
The day before, Reznikov reported that the German heavy weapon “finally” arrived in Ukraine.
