Denys Shmyhal: This heating season will be the most difficult in the history of independent Ukraine

This year's heating season will be the most difficult in the history of independent Ukraine, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said.

“The main risk is terrorist attacks by russia against critical infrastructure,” he wrote in his Telegram.

According to the politician, the government allocates 1 billion 409 million hryvnias (38 million euros) for the purchase of strategic material reserves, which will allow quick response to challenges and problems in heat and water supply.

Direct speech. “This heating season will, without exaggeration, be the most difficult in the history of independent Ukraine. The main risk is russian terrorist attacks against Ukrainian critical infrastructure. Therefore, the government allocates UAH 1.409 billion to purchase strategic material reserves, which will allow us to quickly respond to challenges and problems in heat and water supply. We are talking about equipment with simple and quick deployment and maintenance.

In parallel with the purchases, the government continues to repair critical infrastructure and other preparations for the heating season. The state of readiness for the heating season is now 75%. We are doing our best to ensure that all Ukrainians will have heat and light this winter,” the Prime Minister wrote.
