Details. According to analysts, russia will deploy the 3rd Army Corps to Ukraine in order to resume offensive operations, possibly in the Donetsk and southern sectors.
ISW suggests that the russians intend to redeploy some battalions to reinforce offensive operations near Donetsk, where drives around Maryinka, Pisky, and Avdiyivka have been stalling.
Parts of the 3rd Army Corps may be deployed near Kherson – on the southern axis.
According to the ISW, Army Corps units are unlikely to generate effective combat power, however.
Analysts believe that better equipment will not make corps forces more effective, since the personnel are not well-trained or disciplined.
The ISW examined photographs of elements of the newly formed corps and concluded that the volunteers were “physically unfit and old.” According to analysts, russia's offensive capabilities in Kherson Oblast have degraded even further.
