57% of Ukrainians have experienced a traumatic event since the beginning of the war
The percentage is higher among women, residents of Eastern Ukraine and people whose loved ones took part in hostilities

What happened? Over the last 6 months, 57% of Ukrainians have experienced a traumatic event related to them directly and their relatives.
Source. The survey by Gradus Research commissioned by the Darnytsia pharmaceutical company.
Details. According to the report, this percentage is higher among women, residents of Eastern Ukraine and people whose loved ones participated in hostilities during the war – 60, 66 and 72%, respectively.
Most often, these people have noticed such symptoms as an increased level of anxiety (68%), sleep disturbances (65%) and mood swings (61%).
The total number of people with mental disorders has increased since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of russia on the territory of Ukraine. Despite a high percentage of people reporting a traumatic experience, only 13% sought professional help.
“Such a situation requires the activation of general educational work among the population, because timely professional assistance reduces the risk of chronicity and/or progression of the disease. Worsening of the prognosis for recovery may be the consequence,” the survey emphasised.
It is noted that only one-fifth of those who sought professional help turned to a psychiatrist.
