Ukrainian rivers, ponds and reservoirs also suffer from the problem of explosive remnant contamination. The total area of potentially dangerous waters of Ukraine is about 16,000 square kilometers.
The representative of the State Emergency Service notes that pyrotechnicians of the service demine populated areas, infrastructure and other facilities every day. Since the beginning of the full-scale war, they have been engaged more than 25,000 times. During this time, specialists removed and neutralised 192,230 explosive objects, more than 2,000 of which were air bombs.
In addition, officials have already inspected 69,856 hectares of the Ukrainian territory. Of these, 48,630 hectares are agricultural lands in the de-occupied territories.
