Inflation in Ukraine in August 2022 accelerated to 23.8% in annual terms – State Statistics Service
Compared to July last year, the growth of consumer prices accelerated to 1.1%

What happened? Inflation in Ukraine in August 2022 increased by 1.1% compared to July 2022, and in annual terms – by up to 23.8%.

Details. It is noted that since the beginning of the year, the inflation rate in Ukraine had been at the level of 19.5%.
Last month, the core inflation rose from 1.2% to 2.1% in July and by 15.1% year-to-date.
Over the last month, the price of eggs increased the most (by 15.4%), while vegetables fell in price by 13.5%.
In addition, there was an increase in the prices of household items and household appliances – by 5%, due to the increase in the price of stoves (by 9.4%), heaters, refrigerators (by 9.1%).
Prices for transport went up by 0.8%, mainly due to an 8.9% increase in the price of cars and a 1.2% increase in road passenger transport fares. At the same time, fuel and lubricants became cheaper by 3.9%.
