Details. A total of 9.3 million people have left Ukraine since February 24. In 8 months of full-scale war, 7.4 million Ukrainians have already returned to the Motherland. Another 1.5 million citizens, most of whom are women and children, are currently on the territory of the russian federation without the possibility to return home.
At the same time, the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) believes that there are currently 7.6 million Ukrainian refugees in Europe, 4.2 million of whom have registered and asked for shelter and assistance.
It is noted that considering the number of citizens abroad, when calculating the budget for 2023, the government relies on 34.5 million Ukrainians, although a year ago parliamentarians took into account 34.9 million citizens.
