Details. “The U.S. Permanent Representative to the UN is in Kyiv for a day of meetings to reiterate U.S. unwavering support for Ukraine as it defends its freedom and sovereignty amidst russia’s brutal and unprovoked invasion,” the statement reads.
According to the U.S. Embassy in Ukraine, Ms. Thomas-Greenfield is to discuss “the unwavering commitment of the United States to the sovereignty and independence of Ukraine” with Ukrainian authorities. She will observe efforts to document and preserve evidence of atrocities committed by russian forces and hear stories from survivors.
Additionally, the U.S. Ambassador to the UN will discuss the global food security crisis worsened by russia's invasion and point out the urgent need to extend the Black Sea Grain Initiative into the coming year.
