Energy Minister of Ukraine Herman Halushchenko said during a national TV marathon that at 4 a.m. on Thursday morning they had managed to unite the country's energy system into a single whole, as it had been actually disconnected since Wednesday due to the attack. “Yesterday there was a blackout in our power system as a result of the attack that had been launched. At 4 a.m. we managed to unite it, now it (the power system – Mind ed.) works as a single one,” he said.
Mr. Halushchenko also said that the Rivne, South Ukraine and Khmelnytsky NPPs, which had been shut down yesterday, were expected to be able to supply electricity to the grid again by the end of the present day.
At this point, the critical infrastructure facilities of Ukraine have been re-energised, he stated.
