“A short time ago, near the city of Briceni, in an orchard, a rocket was discovered. The explosive object was discovered by a border police patrol, which, due to today's russian bombings, have intensified their attention,” the Moldovan Interior Ministry said on Facebook.
The type of missile has not yet been named.
The Moldovan Interior Ministry added in its statement that “the area where the rocket was discovered has been isolated by the police patrol and the border service.” The specialised services of the interior ministry are working on the spot.
The discovered missile debris heightens fears of an expanding war, especially for countries bordering both russia and Ukraine.
In November, a Ukrainian missile that veered off course fell in a Polish village, killing two farmers. Although the international community ruled it an accident, it ultimately accused russia of provocative warfare that led to external casualties.
