Since December 30, Ukrainian authorities have reported that air defence forces have managed to shoot down all drones launched by russia.

Details. On the night of January 2, air defence shot down 39 Shahed drones and two Orlan reconnaissance drones launched by russia, the General Staff reports.
Preliminarily, the General Staff reports 44 downed drones, emphasising that all launched drones were shot down. In total, 51 air strikes and 55 MLRS strikes were carried out during the night, the General Staff adds. Ukraine reports that apart from the drones its Air Defence Forces shot down one Kh-59 missile.
40 drones attacked Kyiv, Mayor Vitali Klitschko says. According to him, 15 drones were shot down over neighbouring oblasts, 3 – in Kyiv Oblast, 22 – in the sky over the Ukrainian capital. Due to the attack on Kyiv, energy infrastructure facilities were damaged, which caused emergency power cuts. Moreover, one person was killed.
On New Year's night, the Ukrainian army shot down 45 Iranian-made kamikaze drones, the General Staff of the Armed Forces reports. The Armed Forces note that 13 drones were shot down on December 31, and 32 – on January 1.
At the same time, in russia, on the night of January 2, a Ukrainian reconnaissance drone, which managed to fly about 200 km over russian territory, was shot down on the approach to Voronezh, the Voronezh Oblast authorities reports. In addition, on Monday morning, a Ukrainian drone attacked an energy supply facility in Briansk Oblast, the oblast's governor states. Due to the attack, a fire broke out at the facility, and a village in Klimovsky District was cut off from electricity.
Ukrainian Air Defence Forces managed to shoot down all russian-launched drones for the first time in mid-December, probably due to the supply of air defence systems from the United States and Europe. In the first days of russian attacks in the autumn of 2022, the Ukrainian Armed Forces were able to hit only about half of the drones.
