Putin ordered to allegedly introduce ceasefire on Christmas
Ukraine does not believe in cynical lies of russian propaganda

Russian dictator vladimir putin ordered to introduce a 36-hour ceasefire along the entire front line of the war he unleashed in Ukraine. The regime will allegedly be in effect from 12.00 p.m. (moscow time) on January 6 to 12.00 a.m. on January 7.
Source. The decree published on the kremlin's website, the BBC reports.
Details. "Given that a large number of citizens professing Orthodoxy live in the areas of hostilities, we urge the Ukrainian side to declare a ceasefire and allow them to attend services on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day," the instructions read.
Earlier, russian Patriarch Kirill actually stated this addressing "to all parties involved in the internecine conflict". He called on to introduce a ceasefire and "to establish a Christmas truce from 12.00 p.m. on January 6 to 12.00 a.m. on January 7, so that Orthodox people could attend services on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day."
Before Kirill, Turkish President Recep Erdogan discussed the same issue with putin.
At the same time, the Ukrainian authorities consider Kirill's call as a trap.
"The russian Orthodox Church is not an authority for global Orthodoxy and acts only as a propagandist of war," states Mykhailo Podoliak, Advisor to the Office of the President of Ukraine. "The russian Orthodox Church called for the genocide of Ukrainians, encouraged mass killings and insisted on even greater militarisation of the russian federation. Therefore, the statement of the russian Orthodox Church about the "Christmas truce" is a cynical trap and an element of propaganda," he wrote on Twitter.
"We have already gone through all this dozens of times in Donetsk Oblast. I can easily predict what will happen next. Of course, the occupiers will not stop any fire. Instead, all russian propaganda will shout that Ukraine treacherously continues shelling because it does not want peace," said journalist and blogger Denys Kazansky.
