Details. It is noted that this is due to the increase in electricity consumption in Ukraine as of 11 a.m. on January 9 caused by lower temperatures and increased consumption by industry and business at the beginning of the working week.
The situation with electricity supply in the frontline regions in the east and south remains difficult due to significant damage to power grids as a result of the hostilities. In addition, at night russians shelled one of the generation facilities in the south of the country.
"Currently, the power system is not able to cover the consumption in full due to damage and occupation by the enemy of a number of power plants that generate electricity, including the most powerful Zaporizhzhia NPP," the NPC reports.
The company assures that its specialists are constantly working to restore the damaged facilities affected by enemy missile and drone attacks.
"Please consume electricity wisely, use energy-intensive appliances alternately. This will reduce the load on the power system as well as the need for restrictions," Ukrenergo urges.
